Haemodialysers are designed for hemodialysis treatment of acute and chronic renal failure and are intended for single use. 

Based on the semi-permeable membrane principle, they simultaneously channel the patient's blood and dialysate, which flow in opposite directions on either side of the dialysis membrane. Aided by solute gradients, osmotic pressure, and hydraulic pressure, disposable haemodialysers remove toxins and excess water from the body while replenishing essential substances from the dialysate and maintaining electrolyte and acid-base balance in the blood.
